Captain Jacob Van Meter Chapter Celebrates Constitution Week

Captain Jacob Van Meter Chapter celebrated Constitution Week with the signing of two proclamations and the presentation of ten Constitution Week kits to local schools and libraries.

Hardin County Judge Executive Harry Berry signed a proclamation on September 14 announcing Constitution Week in Hardin County September 17-23.  Hardin County Public Library displayed the Proclamation.  Larue County Judge Executive Tommy Turner proclaimed Constitution Week in Larue County by signing a proclamation on September 20. Larue County Public Library displayed the Proclamation. Citizens were urged to study the Constitution and reflect upon the privilege of being an American.

Constitution Week kits were presented to local schools and public libraries.  The kits contained a DVD entitled “A More Perfect Union – America Becomes a Nation”, a teachers’ guide with lesson plans for grades K-12, classroom poster, and pocket copy of the Constitution.  The materials were prepared by the National Center for Constitutional Studies.
